Set among listed buildings in Chipperfield, the project requires a sensitive response to its historic surroundings. The existing flat-roofed two-storey extension will be removed and replaced with an addition that restores character and creates a more natural relationship with the original home.

The new extension draws on traditional Georgian architecture through balanced proportions, considered detailing and a calm, symmetrical composition. At its centre, a bold arched window serves the principal bedroom, introducing a confident focal point while remaining respectful of the wider setting.

The result is an extension that feels established rather than added, restoring the character of the property while giving it a distinctive new identity.
